    Efficacy

Lactéol Fort Advantages Benefits to patients
    Preparation of heat-killed
    Lactobacillus LB strain
No risk of translocation (contrary to living strains used as probiotics) and drug resistance Ensures high level of safety
High content in active substance Promotes adhesion to intestinal cells and protects enterocytes from pathogenic agents Rapid action shortens treatment duration
Broad antimicrobial mechanism of action Antidiarrheal activity against diarrhea of all origins, not just bacterial Broadens efficacy against multiple types of diarrhea
Combined with antibiotherapy Coordination with antibiotic Strengthens efficacy against diarrhea of bacterial origins

    1) Significantly reduces the duration of diarrhea[1]

The 73 hospitalized children (ages between 3 to 24 months) had on average greater than 8 stools per day, and the treatment was limited to 2 days. Lactéol Fort given in addition to oral rehydration reduced, with statistical significance, the duration of diarrhea, from both bacterial and viral origins.

    2) Normalizes the number of stools by the first day[1]

The associated clinical symptoms disappeared in 3 patients out of 4 in an open trial carried out in 137 adults outside hospitals.
